A motherly office chair
A great example of what Morinosuke Kawaguchi calls yasashii or gentle engineering. The Leopard chair is designed to absorb the impact of sitting down, but also releases the person with a gentle push if they want to get up. The chair manages to convey a sensation of being gently protected and cared for, and beyond ergonomics is clearly designed for its emotional effects and well-being. In the farthest sense a nest or mother comes to mind. Amazingly, the design does not require power, it is purely mechanical.
